It possesses a warm-temperate and healthy climate. It counts with a great amount of cattle and as consequence of  that with an ample production of cheese and butter of excellent quality. Some of its lands are used for agriculture, in

Located in Jutiapa department, on the border line Guatemala-El Salvador is  found the Güija Lake. This lake represents a fresh spot in the middle of a hotenvironment in general. Near are found lagoons such as Atescatempa, El Comendador, Pasaco, El Obajuelo and Grande Lagoon.

The beauty lagoon sulfured of Ixpaco, counts with important ancient archaeological that are found in its cliffs and mountains shores close.

It is a challenge for the lovers of long walk and for climbing there are several volcanoes that draw the profile in that zone; with diverse degrees of difficulty for their ascent, all of them constitute panoramic viewpoints where the splendor of the zone is appraised. They can be escalate; Chingo, Jumay, Tecuamburro and Moyuta. The Jutiapa Department counts with some famous spas like “Cueva de Andá Mirá” located in Asunción Mita.

The Atescatempa Lagoon is the owner of a rare beauty. Also, it attracts many foreign and local visitors since those who like to climb can do it at the Las Víboras volcano that climbs sharply to the sky from their shores. Without any doubt, it is unnecessary to say that the landscape from its top is an extraordinary one, nevertheless; it is important think in the mention the function of the fresh water of the lagoon after had dominated the high of the volcano.

Jutiapa is not too much famous because of its beaches. In spite of this, it is an ironic fact since the sea in from of the seashore is one of the quietest. Among the most beautiful ones we can mention Barra del Jiote, El Limon, Barra de la Gabina, La Barrita and Cojoyera. The relative isolation of these beaches is one of the most attractive factors. If to all to above, you add the lightness of the sea, the extension of the shore coasts, and the softness of the sand, you will be exactly in a copy of paradise.

Cuevas de Andá Mirá

This place combines the existence of a cave, with a small spa built right in the entrance. The water is clear as few, since it originates in the cave itself. It is frequently visited by local and foreign visitors who wish to take a fresh bath, walk, adventure, or to explore the pleasant surrounding nature. In the agriculture and livestock, Jutiapa produces corn, rice, lentils, cane of sugar, tobacco and variety of fruits; also there are great properties with cattle, equine, hinny and pig.

In its municipalities are elaborated crafts such as the traditional ceramic,  basketwork, rigs, musical instruments, palm and wax products, leather and pyrotechnics. Other famous craft is the one is “animals in plaster” that is elaborated in Agua Blanca municipality
