It is located 32 kms from Guatemala City on Inter-American Road. It posses round 15 kms square of surface area and constitute the natural feature most relevant  of Guatemala department. Its titular fair is celebrated on May 3.

It is considered one of the most beautiful in the world by the famous novelist Aldous Huxley. The Lake is 144kms from Guatemala City and without a doubt the most important landmark in Sololá and one of the most known in Guatemala.

Three spectacular volcanoes, Tolimán, Atitlán and San Pedro form the natural frame of the Lake itself. It has a surface of 125 square kilometers and is settled on 1,560 meters above sea level. The Lake complements its beauty with roads, beaches, riverside towns, mountains and volcanoes panoramic. It offers excellent opportunities to practicing fishing sport, sail, kayaks, free falls, aquatic skiing and the naturalistic recreation, as well as visit the Mayan population of the surround.

The Lemoa Lagoon, is named “El espejo de Santa Cruz”. It is located six  ilometers from  Departmental Head, at the side of the asphalt road that goes Chichicastenango. Here you can fish with hook or take a bath. It is surrounded by a fragrant pine, which shadow has been built small cabins and places to cook. It is ideal for camping days, to enjoy the wet ground aroma or the fresh wind  that blows between the pines.

It is located in the volcano summit with the same name. It constitutes a nice walk and easy to fulfill. Occasionally, you can observe there cultural manifestations of local type.

It is the largest of the country, it is surrounded by beautiful beaches: El Estor, Mariscos; Dorada Beach and an exuberant vegetation, reason why it offers to the visitant a great beauty panorama, it is a sail lake and also can formed waves of some consideration.
