In the Quetzaltenango department and close to its head there are six volcanoes that offer multiple opportunities of climbing. The landscapes that are admired from it summits are an impressively beautiful.

Those are: Santa María, Santiaguito, Cerro Quemado, Siete Orejas, Chicabal and Lacandón.

Due to the volcanic manifestations in the  area, are located numerously steam springs in which there have habilitated natural warm and sulfured bathes. The most accessible are the Almolonga, Cantel and Aguas Amargas baths, with special services for visitants.

This is the favorite of the climbers, experts and amateurs, because it represents a magnificent challenge.  The city of Quetzaltenango is surrounded by hills. Their names are: El Baúl, La pedrera; El Galápago and Zunilito.

El Baúl Hill or Tecún Umán is located in the Orient of the city; its pine-studded valley, that lodge a big range of birds, squirrels and other animals. There is a viewpoint in the summit of the paths and a lot of facilitates of access.

In Quetzaltenango is elaborated textiles, basket work, ceramic, images ork in wood, palm and metal, musical instruments, products in wax, leather, pyrotechnics, as well as jicara and guacawl.
