With average temperatures at 72 º Fahrenheit, Guatemala can be visited any time of the year. The country enjoys two seasons: the rainy from May to October and the dry season from November to April.

The average temperature in the highlands is 64.9 F º, on the coasts is 77 F º and in Guatemala City about 66.2 º F.

Immigration Information

Central American citizens may enter Guatemala by showing their Residential Card, which is their only identification document, or their current passport. European and American visitors do not need a Visa. Visitors from other nationalities, please visit

All regular immigration and customs forms at the borders of Guatemala are free. In special cases where a charge is applied, the relevant authorities must provide proof of payment.


The departure tax from Guatemala is USD $ 30.00; in addition to this, the airport security fee is USD $3.00.
